At the Tata group, we believe that the our legacy of 'giving back' can best be practised by rolling up our sleeves and being the change that we wish to see in this world. Volunteering is one of the key mechanisms that we have chosen to channelise our most valuable assets, our people, towards societal good. Over and above directing professional expertise and rich experience towards pressing environmental and social issues, volunteering also enhances social cohesion and strengthens communities.

Tata Sustainability Group set up Tata Engage to institutionalise volunteering across the Group, invite Tata colleagues, their family members and retired Tata employees to associate and engage with important causes and create a positive impact on the lives of many. Today, Tata Engage has emerged as a vibrant platform that kindles, nurtures and channelises the volunteering spirit at Tata and amplifies outcomes.
Tata Volunteering Week
Tata Volunteering Week (TVW) is organized biannually (March and September) as a series of half-a-day volunteering opportunities curated by Tata companies to introduce their employees to volunteering and to enable them to share the experience with family members and colleagues from across the group.
Skill-based volunteering
ProEngage, the group’s part-time skill-based volunteering programme, pairs volunteers for extended periods and on their personal time with NGOs. Volunteers work in teams and use their business and personal skills and knowledge to address problems identified by NGOs.
Volunteering for Disaster Response
Through Disaster response, the group leverages employee volunteers in its Disaster Response efforts whenever required. ‘Core volunteers’ spend 7 to 10 days in disaster affected areas as part of Tata teams that execute the response through needs assessments, preparation and distribution of relief kits, conducting medical camps, etc.
